About Murrumbateman
Murrumbateman is a vibrant rural village 30 minutes North of Canberra and 2.5 hours South of Sydney. The village is rapidly expanding, with many people being attracted from nearby cities looking for a relaxed country lifestyle.
Murrumbateman was historically based on wool & beef cattle but has recently emerged as a centre for wine & tourism with wineries, cafes and restaurants, award winning B&Bs and other attractions in Canberra and Yass.
Murrumbateman is made up of a diverse and active community, with many local groups and events. It is also home to a large number of vibrant small businesses producing fine wine, offering great hospitality and creating fine art and crafts. These businesses are represented by the Makers of Murrumbateman Association.
